It's that time of year again when we have a look at our wardrobes, decide we've had enough of winter and sprawl magazines for Spring wardrobe inspiration! We also want to find out the upcoming trends and try and prepare ourselves (and our bank accounts) for new pieces hitting the high street! It's inevitable that a trend 'pastel' or 'floral' related will be in each Spring/Summer, and lets face it, even if they weren't we'd still wear them! Anyhow, seeing as we usually associate spring with brighter colours, it was likely a shock (and delight) to many when we saw Monochrome all over the catwalks and fashion magazines! I don't know about anyone else, but when i saw black & white all over the media i was pretty darn chuffed! It's easy to wear, looks great, and most of us already own lots of black and white pieces in our wardrobes. *Hooray for my savings!*. Plus, I can now have an 'all black day' and be like 'dayummmn i'm on trend today!' - Okay, maybe not quite like that, but you know what i mean!...
Anyhow, as much we all love the designers (how amazing is that Giles dress?!) unless I win the lottery in the next few months I'm not going to be able to afford them! Therefore, I've been using my time wisely (so i tell myself) to find some of my favourite high street pieces that I/we can actually afford! I absolutely love these Topshop houndstooth shorts! I think they'd look so cute with a black blouse, camel coat, opaque tights and little T-bar shoes! - Perfect day time look. The sleeveless blouse is something a little different, and combines western, collars and monochrome all into one perfect staple to wear with jeans, skirts and shorts! As for the Ted Baker pumps, well, I-need-them. If i'm not in my boots, i'm in ballet pumps, and these seem like the ideal comfortable shoes for day to day wear! The bracelets would be a great touch to any outfit, and would be ideal to add a bit of 'edge' to outfits such as this lace dress!

I love the monochrome trend. The beetlejuice trousers are by far my favourite, but pulling them off seems somewhat of a huge task! I also love the spotted shirt in the collage.
