January Favourites ...

Left to Right: YSL shocking eyeliner & Mascara / Just acces ego necklace @Asos / Watch : Michael Kors /  Bethany dress: Mod Dolly / Shorts: Goldie London / Powda Wowza: Benefit / Sunglasses : Asos / Lipstick : MAC 'please me' /

I haven't done a post like this before, so thought i'd jump on the band wagon and give it a go.  All the time i find things i love, but here is the things i have that i love, and things i want that i love. (Woah, i totally just used 'love' way too many times.) I already own the beauty products, and i have to say, MAC please me, is one of the loveliest colours I've ever used! It can be rather dehydrating on the lips though, so i like to use a moisturising gloss on top. As for the YSL shocking mascara and eyeliner, well, I've never used eye products quite like them. - Give them a shot. The powda wowza has actually been featured in both my FOTD's now, and is such a lovely product as you get 3 different colours making it great for contouring etc... definitely one worth buying if you love Benefit blushers and bronzers.

I hope you are all having a lovely week! I am soooo excited that my exams are finally over and that, for the first time in a month, i can have a revision-free evening! Not looking forward to tomorrow though. Wednesdays involve getting up at 6, travelling an hour 1/4 for college, just for a 1 hour geography lesson with a hot pain in the ass teacher, just to go back home to bed again at 10. Totally pointless in my opinion. Anyway, enjoy your evening girlies and look out for tomorrows post on all the lovely awards i've received recently!

My Style No.2

Left to right: Shoes : Topshop / Playsuit : Rare / Cross necklace : Asos / Cardigan : Barbour / Snake bag : Warehouse /

I'm having one of those months where i want buy absolutely everything; but don't have the funds to do so. I swear whenever i do actually have money i don't like anything and end up wasting it on cinema tickets, food and the odd item of clothing i will never even wear. Nevertheless, I am allowed to dream about all the things i love, and share them with you, of course. Here is my second outfit in the 'my style' feature of my blog. I love doing this because it allows me to put together outfits which i can take inspiration from when having one of those horrific ' I have nothing to wear' situations, i also hope it gives you girlies inspiration and a taste of my style too. Onto the outfit... I have a serious obsession with playsuits at the minute. I've made the justification of buying them as i can wear them both in winter, and summer - sorted. This lovely little one is actually from rare, which is a company i absolutely love! The quality is amazing and they have so many lovely things. You may also have noticed the cardigan. The picture honestly doesn't do it justice, but if you take a look at the Barbour website here you will likely fall in love. I know bird, duck or any sort of animal print aren't everyones taste, but i feel they add such a cute element to any outfit and I absolutely love this one, despite the terrifying price tag.

I hope you girlies have had a lovely weekend, mine has been pretty hands on with revision, cooking and sorting out the yard (I have horses) and i'm dreading tomorrows geography exam, but at least my 4pm tomorrow i shall be free. Oh, and just before i leave you, I just wanted to tell everyone about my boutique which i've recently set up. I'm currently in the process of making lots of things, but for now, i'd love you all to check out the things i have! the lovely Laura at call-of-beauty actually purchased a necklace the other day, so i hope she loves it! Please check out her blog too, she does some amazing makeup posts! and if you're reading this Laura, thankyouuuu!

Enjoy your sunday night, I'm about to tuck into some good ol' traditional toad in the hole (Vegetarian style ;)

Saturday night creativities ...

Recently, baking, sewing and revision have been a part of my saturday nights. The social side to my life is  pretty much in non - existence at the minute, and i'm actually finding more pleasure in being productive at home rather than getting absolutely 'off my face' and suffering the consequences for 2 days. So tonights little spark of 'creativity' led me to making these rather delicious banana and walnut muffins and now i'm sat here watching red riding hood (the newest one) and scoffing my face - heaven. I actually got the recipe from the book pictured above (how cute), you can make out the instructions... but here is the ingredients:-

- 3 bananas
- 100g caster sugar
- 70g brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 100g melted butter
- 110g plain flour
- 110g wholemeal flower
- 1 1/2 tspns bicarbonate of side (I used baking powder)
- 45ml buttermilk (I used low fat natural yoghurt)
- 145g chopped walnuts

So there you have it, the easiest, yummiest banana muffins in the history of banana muffins. Enjoy your saturday night girlies whether you're out in town or scoffing your face and watching movies just like me.

FOTD No.2

My last 'FOTD' went down pretty well, so I though i'd continue to make them regularly! So here is another...

Notice my sneaky little hair do? Just clipped it round to the side ;)

What i'm wearing:

- Clinique even better foundation (02)
- Mac studio concealer nc20
- Natural collection pressed powder
- Benefit powda wowza
- benfit brow zings
- MUA heaven and earth pallet
- Benefit 'They're real' mascara
- Barry M Lip paint in 113

You are probably thinking by now that I'm really boring with my makeup. Well, at the minute exams have meant I've not been out in an unsociable amount of time, so the need for more dramatic makeup just hasn't occurred. In my last FOTD i had eyeliner on, where as here i do not. When at college i don't see the point in slapping on the foundation, eye shadow and false eye lashes; tbh, those that do just look (with out being mean) ridiculous. Fake eyelashes (Im on about the massively fake ones) have their time and place and that's definitely not college. Anyway, enough of the wingeyness, ITS FRIDAY! I've had a rather good week, got an offer from Newcastle Uni to study geography, and todays Psychology exam went pleasantly well! Just one more exam on monday and I will be free ... Until may anyway.

I hope you girlies have all had a lovely week, and enjoy your weekend! I also want to say hello and thank you to all my lovely new followers! I've had so many lovely comments and new people reading my little blog this week which has truly made me smile.

Style Inspiration : Felicity Jones

Okay, so i first saw this 28 year old girl in Chalet girl, which i have to say, i thoroughly enjoyed! However, the film doesn't portray her as exactly 'beautiful' or 'stylish' but you can see for your selves, she really is. Oh, and she also kissed Ed Westwick...many times - so so jealous. She has just starred in the film 'like crazy' and if that isn't enough, she is now the face of Burberry! She is one lucky, gorgeous, talented girl I am incredibly envious of.

Do any of you think she is stunning and an amazing actress as well?

Lots of love, and I hope you are having a wonderful week, yay for Friday tomorrow! xxx

How to : Sort & Clear out your wardrobe

Okay, so when it comes to clearing and sorting our wardrobes, us girls are all the same. It's the usual 'I might wear that to a party' 'It might come back into fashion' or 'I've had that since a child' that stops us from selling it, throwing it in the bin, or taking it to the charity shop. So after years of trying to clear my wardrobe (and epically failing) it has finally hit me that i need 'get over it' and just blooming chuck it out. Out of the entire contents of my wardrobe (ignoring the clothes in my draws) I probably only wear 50% of it, which is pretty darn awful and I constantly keep onto things in the worry i might regret getting rid of it. Well, if you're either selling it or charity shopping it you've done good for yourself and others, so either save the money or invest in some new clothing you do actually like. Our styles constantly change, so whats the point holding onto things you never wear and block up your wardrobe? - None at all.

It's that time of year again where my wardrobe is crying for me to 'de-stuff' it. I honestly could not fit another item of clothing in there, so it's time for a change. Here's my wardrobe and my tips to clearing it out...

1. I like to start by taking out the obvious things i don't wear/like anymore.
2. 'Item coordinate' your wardrobe. By that i mean, put all your trousers, skirts, shorts, dresses, tops etc.. together in your wardrobe.
3. Look at how much of each item you have, this helps to decide what you have too much or not enough of.
4. Try to get rid of at least one of each item.
5. Pick out the pieces you are not sure about. The fact that you can't decide means you really don't need it, so put it in your pile with the clothes from the first option.
6. Make one last check through your wardrobe, now sort what your selling, charity shopping, giving to a sibling or if you don't want to do any of these - bin it.

Okay, so to some of you my wardrobe may not look much different, but, I honestly did take a lot out, like you can see from the mahussive pile of clothes! Some are actually lovely vintage pieces so I will be selling them on my Boutique and the others i will give to the charity shop! So check them out soon! ... Another last minute tip of mine is; if you have an item that is a lovely pattern and material such as dress, but you don't like the shape of it, why not try and make it into a skirt? I actually have a dress I'm going to change, but this will be posted when i have time to get the sewing machine out! It's definitely worth a try, and if you mess it up, it doesn't matter. I hope this post was helpful girlies! I would love to know if any of you have had a 'successful' wardrobe clear out!

My Style NO.1

Left to right: Skirt : Topshop / Shirt : Goldie / Loafers : Bass Washington @ASOS / Tapestry bag : Pieces floring @ASOS / Belt : Oasis

Every blogger has a certain post they always repeat and I feel like my blog doesn't currently have much structure, so I've decided i'm going to make regular similar posts. Some of you may have read my FOTD from Thursday, and I've had positive feedback so thinking of making that a 'Thursday post'. I've also had an idea of creating outfits that are 'my style' I love to see outfit posts, but i think it might be good to see how someone would create an outfit, so I'm going to be doing a 'My style' post each Monday or so with outfits i'm lovin'! I'd love to know if you think this is a good idea and want to see it? But here it goes anyway ...

I've recently noticed how much my style has changed, particularly since starting blogging as i've been inspired by so many people. I used to dress a bit 'boyish' but now i'm going all girly again like i did when i was younger. Florals, pastels, spots, tassels etc are all attracting me and i feel this outfit reflects my new style rather well. I love both brown and black in an outfit as i feel they contrast each other well, so, for example, if I'm wearing a brown belt, theres a high possibility I'm wearing black shoes, or vise versa. I love this shirt as it looks spotty, but it's actually love heart print - how cute! and feel it would look gorgeous tucked into this topshop black skater skirt with the brown skinny belt. You can never go wrong with loafers either, so I guess these were a 'safe' option, but still, I love them! Oh, and on the jewellery side of things, i'd team this outfit with my gold casio watch and a small gold cross necklace under the collar of the shirt and likely my trusty Vivienne Westwood earings ;)

I hope you enjoyed this girlies xxx

Cath Kidston haul

I've been totally spoilt by my boyfriend the last couple of days. There has been no particular reason that I'm aware of, however, it's is valentines day soon, and he always gives me presses early, so maybe that is why? Either way, I'm so so excited about all my lovely new items and ever so grateful! - Thankyou Christopher! I'm sure all of you have heard of Cath Kidston, and i have to be honest; I'm obsessed. If my entire house was kitted out in her stuff i definitely wouldn't complain. It's their accessories i really love, and i had actually been after this laptop case for ages, and Chris found it in the sale!! I also was in desperate need of a weekend bag as i was always inconveniently taking 2 or 3 smaller bags away with me! So i was so happy when Chris gave me this bag - How gorgeous is it? I just need somewhere to go now so I can use it... ha. The other little items are a card holder which I've put my beloved rail card in, and a phone case that Hermione conveniently stood over... I was going to take another photo, but thought this was actually rather cute. I clearly have a very vain kitten....

Weekend bag: £68 / Phone case: £4.50 (sale) / Card holder: £6 / Laptop case: £18 (sale)

Some of you may have also noticed that my blog has changed a lot. I liked how it looked before, however felt it was a bit too much with all the swallows down the side, and it was a bit 'childish' I also like being able to have widgets and buttons etc.. down the side! Oh, and i was wondering, do any of you lovely girlies know how i can get my pages in the centre? I worked out how to do the header, but struggled with everything else - technology is NOT my forte. Nevertheless, i hope you all like it, and id love to know your opinions.

D.I.Y bleached denim jacket

This was supposed to be a different D.I.Y however, typical me went and lost what i just ordered to do it! So, here is another cheeky one i had up my sleeve. A lot of you have probably heard about bleaching your denim jacket or seen videos on youtube, but i haven't actually seen a blog post on one (apologies if I've missed one of yours) There are many ways you can do it, such a tying your jacket up in a band and soaking it in bleach, however i have a slightly non-messier version of how I bleach a jacket! I hope you enjoy girlies!

So lets start with what you need:

1. A plastic washing up bowl / something similar
2. Bleach (any brand)
3. Old toothbrush
4. Bin liners
5. Denim Jacket

Step 1: Place a bin liner under your jacket, and one in-between your jacket to stop the bleach leaking through.

Step 2: Pour a small amount of bleach into the bowl, you can add more later if you need to.

Step 3: Dip your toothbrush in the bleach and start to brush on the bleach in your desired place. I like to focus on the pockets, collar and try and create an 'ombre' effect from the bottom of the jacket, up! But you can do what ever you like, even if its just the pockets :)

Step 4: After a few minutes you will start to see the yellow stain, once you have finished the front, turn your jacket over so you can do the back. Don't forget the sleeves either! Oh, and don't worry if it's not exactly the same as the front, you are aiming for a 'distressed' look here anyway :)

Step 5 : Leave your jacket for 10 minutes on the table, or hang it up. Then put it in the washing machine on a cool 30 degree wash so than any excess bleach is removed! I havnt actually washed mine yet as the silly washing machine is having a funny 5 minutes, so the technician guy is coming out monday to fix it!

So this is what mine looks like without being washed! It looks horrible and yellow, but when i get the chance to wash it, it will come out whiter and the patches will look more even as the excess bleach washes out! This jacket i have used is actually an unbranded oversized one from a charity shop for £3! I also studded the collar as you probably noticed! I hope you have enjoyed this and found it helpful girlies! I will show you the finished jacket when i get the chance to wash it! haha.

FOTD No.1

Possibly one of the vainest posts I've ever made, but I've never done one like this before so feel that is a justification for it. I always see 'FOTD' (face of the day) posts and felt like doing one myself. I love to see the sorts of makeup looks people wear in the day as it gives me so much inspiration! I tend to go for a 'safe' look in the day, so keep the blusher, eyeliner, lippy etc on the low (as you can tell). This is exactly how my makeup was after a whole day of college (apart from a touch up on the lipstick, as i had that 'been on for 8hours look going on') So anyway, enough of the ramble mumble jumble, here is my face...

Sorry to distract you, but look at my Vivienne Westwood earings my boyfriend bought me today - SO excited!

What I used:
- Clinique even better foundation, shade 02
- MAC studio finish concealer NC20
- Natural collection pressed powder, Neutral
- Benefit Powda Wowza
- Benefit Brow zings - Dark
- They're real Benefit mascara
-YSL shocking liquid eye liner (not in photo)
- MAC matte lipstick - please me
- Soap and glory mother puck - candy gloss

Incase you were wondering, i use ELF makeup brushes, however I'm in the process of saving for a whole new set of Sigma brushes! I literally cannot wait to get them! What brushes do you girlies use? Also, if you happen to be looking for a new brow-kit I definitely recommend this one from Benefit! It retails around £19? - totally worth it though!

I hope you enjoyed this girlies! Roll on the weekend...

Spring/Summer trends 2012

SCARF PRINT

Scarf print is going to be so big this season! Not only can you now wear it around your neck, but you can wear it any where else and look bang-on-trend! However, i definitely wouldn't recommend wearing more than one item that is scarf print in an outfit! You won't want to look OTT. So wear it will plain items, such as blazers, denim, or leather jackets etc... This is one of those love/hate trend, and i have to say, I LOVE IT!

Left to Right: River Island / Topshop / Topshop

DENIM

Possibly the one thing you never go wrong with it, denim. This season however it's a huge trend with everything from denim shirts, jeans, jackets, dresses...you name it. Denim is also so easy to wear, whether its just black jeans, white tee and a denim shirt, or a floral dress and denim jacket you can never go wrong. Double denim however... I wouldn't dare go there. If you already have a denim jacket (which I'm sure you do) why not try customising it? Bleach it, stud it, dye it, sew pearls on the collar? Make it extra special and totally unique!

Left to Right: Topshop / Levis / Miss Selfridge

PASTELS

Pastel colours remind me so much of summer and i love wearing them! Topshop have such an amazing selection of pastel coloured clothing this season...literally could own it all, its so pretty! I particularly love the pastel brogues as they are so quirky and different!

All Topshop

STATEMENT TROUSERS

I'm not very brave when it comes to 'statement prints' however, after looking at many of these, I'm starting to come to terms and even considering buying a pair! With just a simple white tee and a denim jacket i think they would look gorgeous and be totally wearable!

Left to Right: Warehouse / Topshop Boutique / Oasis

SPOTS

Okay, i have to be honest, even if spots were not in fashion; I'd still bloody wear them. When ever I'm shopping, the spotty things grab me first as i just find it such a cute, pretty and easy to wear print! I love that different coloured spots are in this season too, slightly different from the typical white and i particularly love spotty shorts and skirts!

Left to Right: Warehouse / Topshop / Topshop

Okay, I really do have so many more i could write about, but i could go on forever and ever! but i think these are my favourites for the season, and are pieces i can still wear now in winter, but convert into my summer wardrobe! I hope you enjoyed the post, and i would love to know your favourite trends for the season!
